Cathay Language Center was founded in Taipei by Ms. Crystal Hsu in 1984, and now has 30 years' experience of teaching Chinese.
I. Featured Grammar Curriculum
Featured grammar system is developed by professionals based on the principle of linguistics. It is systematic, comprehensive, and very friendly to English speakers. It's easy for learners to master the structuring principle and make correct sentences on their own.
II. Speaking First
Cathay program features conversational practice. Under the guidance of our experienced and professional counselors, you will practice the grammatical principles by talking about your daily life and work. You will also learn the vocabulary most relevant to your level and needs; your time and money are precious, so let's spend them on what is most necessary.
III. Small Classes
To maintain the quality of our classes, Cathay insists the size of class to be small, so that counselors can make sure that each student has plenty of time to practice.
IV. Chinese Characters
In most cases, after students finish grammar sessions they will learn Chinese characters.
Students will learn the approach of radicals, rules of combinations, and making phrases with the combination of different characters. The ultimate goal is to make students able to key in and correct Chinese writing.
V. Culture-Orientation Courses
Cathay's culture-oriented activities give you firsthand experience of the beauty and subtlety of Chinese culture. We also give speeches and courses on specific topics not limited to history, politics, religion, and etc. Cathay's goal is to bring you closer to the Chinese mindset.
