This chain of small supermarkets has branches all over Greater Taipei. It is a little on the high-end of the price spectrum, offering premium grade food from the domestic market as well as food from overseas.
The main attraction to Westerners is that the chain regularly imports food from the U.S., Canada, Australia and the EU. Another important thing is that is one of the very few supermarkets in Taiwan to write many of their signs in English, making it very easy to locate whatever you want and identifying what else is for sale. All in all, shopping at Matsusei is a pleasure.
