99 Art Center was created in 2003 to expose talented Taiwanese artists. It champions artists who create distinctive, abstract images.
In 2008 the gallery opened a branch in Shanghai to promote local, Taiwanese fine arts and to promote artistic exchange. 99 Art Center's exhibitions are typically solo exhibitions that change twice a month.
