Opened in Taipei in 1985, Artland Book Company (interestingly enough, the name actually translates from Chinese to 'Athenian') is the place to find books about art in its many forms. Categories include architecture, photography, industrial design, arts and crafts and fine art among many others. There is also a gallery called Artspace which displays local art. Many of the internationally-sourced books are also available in original languages such as English, French and Spanish.
One can spend many happy hours here just browsing the beautiful selection of books and other publications, and there is also a membership list available to keep the artistically-inclined reader up to date on the latest acquisitions and happenings at Artland. The store is easily accessible from Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT Station - use exit 2 and then it is about 10 mins on foot.
