Description
Begin with a scenic drive along mountain roads to Shiding, a rural district in New Taipei City. Thousand Island Lake (Qiandao Lake) is a reservoir surrounded by hills resembling the famous lake in Mainland China. The area’s climate and terrain create ideal conditions for tea cultivation, including Wenshan Pouchong and Dong Fang Mei Ren (Oriental Beauty Oolong).
Nearby, Bagua Tea Garden features tea plantations arranged in patterns inspired by the Eight Trigrams. After exploring Shiding, continue to Pinglin District, a renowned tea-growing region.
Visit the Pinglin Tea Museum, housed in a traditional Hokkien-style quadrangle courtyard, where you can see historical tea harvesting tools and learn about the Taiwanese tea industry’s development. After the museum, stop at a local tea shop where your guide and a tea instructor will demonstrate brewing techniques and offer tea tastings.
The tour concludes with a return transfer to your chosen drop-off point at Taipei 101’s Xinyi Shopping District or MRT Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station.
