Jianguo Holiday Flower Market

Taipei

Markets

Flowers beautify our surroundings! Nine out of ten people will agree to this. Hence a number of people are shopping for their flowers even at the wee hours of the morning on a weekend, at Taipei's Jianguo Holiday Flower Market. There is a special revelry in the rush of luminous living colours that lean into the walkways of Jianguo Flower Market and something intoxicating about a visit to this blossoming bazaar.

The Jianguo Flower market is situated directly opposite Taiwan's jade market. A stroll through this market is best during the early morning when the flowers are freshest and the crowds are at a minimum. Recommended as day out - move from the flower market, to the jade market and enjoy breakfast in the area before taking a stroll through Daan Park.

Beside the Jade Market, the flower market stretches more than 8000 square meters. There are over 200 vendors selling stunningly fresh flowers that are waiting for someone to bring them home. Apart from the flowers, there are also flower seeds, floral supplies, containers and vases for sale. All the requirements for a budding horticulturalist in one place - not to mention the invaluable advice of the vendors who specialise in the growth and maintenance of the plants they sell.

One of the 'hot' items at this market is the novel bonsai, sold at varying ages. You might want to get one for your abode!

The market is only open on weekends, from 9AM until 6PM.
