This trail starts only a few minutes walk from Xindian MRT station, across the Bitan suspension bridge. The entrance is a little hard to find, it is a few steps hidden between some shops. There is a large sign marking it, but occasionally hawkers will block it.

Once on the trail, it quickly branches into three routes, all of which have their own attractions: the lower two give lovely views of the river and are very level and quite easy, while the third, high route can be very challenging as it goes to the very top of the mountain, through an abandoned amusement park. At the very top you are rewarded by a wonderful view of southern Taipei and the mountains beyond. Since all the paths interlock at different points, it is very easy to take a different trail back.
