The Speakeasy Bar
Taipei
The Speakeasy is a local bar hidden on the street of Guangfu South Rd, a short walk from Xinyi-Anhe or Sun Yat-Sen MRT station. The Taipei Speakeasy's Irish Scenery, homey service and cosy regulars, make this bar a friendly and comfortable environment, a little under the radar thanks to it's semi-concealed entrance.
A fully stocked bark twinkles tales of rare spirits to patrons. If whiskey is your forte, stop by the Speakeasy for a wide selection, ranging from some of the best Irish whiskey in town to some of the smoothest Scotch whisky on the market. Ales, ciders, on tap brews and bottled beers are a-plenty. For those Guiness friends, you'll find a Guiness on tap poured perfectly here.
Stop by the Speakeasy during happy hour for some particularly affordable pints, as well as discounted Guinness, mixed drinks and pub fare. If you are looking for a place to have a night cap, this dim and delicious venue is ideal for a pint and a good chat, with the locals and expats who are slowly becoming part of the Speakeasy furniture. Also an excellent place to catch glimpses of live games or matches, with that friendly pub feel, snacks to keep you seeing straight throughout and cosy seats. English Premiere League is screened regularly and, by demand of the South African and British regulars, the odd cricket game or rugby match.
With the right happy hour price tage for pre-drinks, comfy seating for some sports viewing or late night service for a post-party party - The Speakeasy Irish Bar is an all-purpose pleaser.
The Speakeasy is open from 7PM until 2AM everyday (Happy Hour from 7PM 'til 9PM), and until the wee hours on weekends. On Wednesday nights Irish merriment is in full-flow, thanks to the specialty whisky-based drinks and Irish beers served.
