Green Island is a gorgeous destination that attracts the adventurous tourists. Although an absence of sandy beaches may deter the regular beach bum crowd, snorkelling, swimming, hiking, and exploring lush green trails and caves continue to draw spirited travellers.
A note though, that Green Island's weather is incredibly unpredictable. That being said, if the weather is bad, it's unlikely to last too long. Snorkellers shimmy through hundreds of species of coral and tropical fish while time and again scuba divers declare Green Island a world class destination. Green Islands Jhaori hot springs are some fo the very few saltwater hot springs in the world. Enjoyed in the day or at night, under the beauty of the sky.
Jhaori hot springs consists of 8-10 pools of differing temperatures, including hot-spring tubs rsituated right in the ocean. Green Island is no capital of gourmet but among fresh seafood a plenty not too much can go wrong. To get there, airplanes do fly directly from Taipei. Alternatively, take a train to Taitung and a ferry from Taitung to Green Island.
