Heping Road Morning Market

On any given morning, you can walk to this small street market and buy some fresh vegetables and fruits. This market is covered with a roof to protect against sun and rain but otherwise open-air. From Monday to Friday, Heping Street is lined with stalls of produce going for quite low prices: a bunch of fresh greens for 20 NTD, dragon fruit, Asian pears, wax apples, purple guavas and famous Taiwanese mangos for pocket change.

You can find here quite a lot of food that looks familiar, and much that doesn't. The market closes fairly early in the afternoon. It is not truly a tourist sight, so unless you are in the neighbourhood, looking for some fresh vegetables, you might want to plan your trip just to include it in your route.
