Taipei Daan Sports Center
Taipei
In a crowded city, with extremely temperamental weather, it can be difficult to get your daily dose of endorphins released. What makes Taipei such a wonderfully liveable city is the abundance of affordable amenities Taipei's residents have access to. At a fraction of a traditional gym fee, pay once to visit one of Taipei's many public sport centres. Each sports centre is located nearby a Taipei Metro MRT station and the entrance fee can be as low as $50NTD, with additional charges for more specific facilities, like rock-climbing walls, indoor pools, shooting ranges, etc.
Taipei City's 11th sports centre, Taipei Daan Sports Centre was opened to public in April 2010 and is one of the city's most popular workout venues. Providing sanctuary from the humidity and unforgiving temperatures, Daan Sports Centre is conveniently situated in the busy Daan district and is located nearby National Taiwan University.
This public sports centre comes equipped with the latest facilities - such as swimming pools, basketball and badminton courts, gym, roller blade tracks, billiards/pool tables, ping pong tables, squash courts and a golf course. Because of its convenience and location, it's a well-attended centre.
Because of the foot traffic there, you can be for quite a while on the waiting list for certain facilities. It's wise to call and make reservations beforehand if you're planning to make use of the courts. This sports centre is 12-15 minutes away on foot to either Liuzhangli MRT station or Technology Building Station. Parking is also available on site.
