45 is a well-known Taipei bar, nearby NTU and the Yongkang Street food area. Particularly well-loved by the foreign crowd, but not at all a rowdy expat sports bar. On Saturday nights a few elbows may be needed to make your way to the bar. On other night, is populated but not overwhelming. This is a great place to escape a hundred 'hi, how are ya's if you're looking for a quiet night out. Not a place to meet people - more of a pub to relish the company you came through the doors with or have a quiet solo sipper.
Really inexpensive beer and fairly well-priced drinks and bar snacks. Wine, liquers, cocktails - the usual suspects. The cocktails are nothing special but are an affordable merriment for sure. 45 Pub is a somewhat clandestine location. On Heping East road - nearest MRT exit Guting #5 - the bar is in wooden shed-like house, up some very steep stairs, on the second floor. Find Pub 45 at, you guessed it, 45 Heping East road.
