DV8 Bar
Taipei
DV8 is a veritable Taipei institution. Open for twenty years before relocating to it's current location is 2008, this amiable, neighbourhood bar has been a mainstay within Taipei's bar scene for some time. The personality that drives this bar is owner Gary, who is loved by his loyal patrons.
DV8 offers daily drink specials and is decidedly affordable. At DV8, those on a budget can enjoy a bottle of Moosehead for 100NTD. Taipei is a fairly expensive city when it comes to alcohol, but DV8 really takes the wallet woes out of the hungover morning after.
DV8 also serves food, has free WiFi and has a fooze-ball table and pool table. What's more, there are some good tunes spinning and the bar staff take requests gladly. Every Wednesday is vinyl night!.
This bar is full of cheer and is, thankfully, a bit more low-key. Although there is the buzz of a people in the bar, it's not an elbow-to-elbow evening. A night in DV8 usually isn't heaving with people - which can be a very nice change of pace from the annoying queues and overwhelming weekend crowds. The low cost of high quality drinks also makes this an excellent choice for the hardened partiers, planning to pre-drink before hitting Taipei's pricey clubs.
DV8 is open every night.
