Eddy's Cantina is a festive Mexican restaurant in Shilin, Taipei. Owner Eddy Gonzales began with just a Mexican food stand and, years later, is the proud owner of one of Taipei's most established Mexican restaurants. All of the Mexican favourites are found here - nachos, enchiladas, chimichangas and of course, tacos and burritos. During lunch time, Eddy's offers customers a selection of rice bowls, served with carnitas, huevos ranchero or fajitas. Most of the menu reads as platters, so this is a great place to share food.
This Mexican joint also has a decidedly mom 'n pop feel to it. The owners are really hands on and all visitors receive service with personality. Last but not least, the bright colour scheme of Eddy's Cantina give this restaurant an extremely festive feel.
The Mexican food at Eddy's Cantina is American diner style Mexican and comes at great value - especially during happy hour when the price of drinks goes down too. This eatery has a vast selection of beers and cocktails to wash down your tequila with. Veggie heads will be glad to know that the vegetarian menu here is comprehensive, while families visiting Eddy's are pleased to find that there are lots of choices for the kids, portioned accordingly. Eddy's Cantina really is a crowd-pleaser.
This restaurant is open weekdays for lunch and dinner and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. Take note Eddy's Cantina is closed on Tuesdays! The nearest MRT is Zhishan station.
