Directions to Milo Milo (Scandinavian)
Think the only Swedish spot in Taipei is IKEA? Think again. Milo Milo is now educating the people Taipei city in the indulgences of the Swedes.
Milo Milo is a swanky gastropub, serving an authentic Swedish fare from a Scandinavian style menu. This accommodating restaurant has a truly homey, cottage-like setting that beckons with Scandinavian comfort food and the Snaps to sip on. Unfortunately Milo Milo no longer offers 'Gravlax Råraka', a renowned and typically Swedish dish. Still there are plenty of other delightful Swedish delicacies to try.
Authentic in its offerings, Milo Milo offers mouthwatering dishes meaty enough to satiate even the most avid carnivores. Try the pickled herring, home-cooked venison, Swedish meatballs and north Atlantic cod. Naturally, the salmon at Milo Milo also comes highly recommended by Milo Milo fans.
It must be said though, that while Milo Milo is good, the Swedish restaurant Flavours is widely regarded as being one of Taipei city's best restaurants. For a premium experience of Scandinavian cuisine in a tried and tested foodies' favourite, Flavours seems to consistently come in top of the log. Still, Milo Milo is nice and has a more homely bistro-ish feel to it, for a more casual and cheaper meal.
The pretty simplicity of a Scandinavian setting, Milo Milo is a favourite for a tasty light meal and a nice change from the abundance of Chinese, Italian and French restaurants Taipei has to offer. Nearest MRT: Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall MRT station.
