Chin-nan Temple
Taipei
This landmark is situated on a hillside close to the Maokong gondola. The temple is quite large and dates from the nineteenth century. It is dedicated to Patriarch Lu, a scholar of Confucianism and one of that religion's 'Lords of Literature.'
The temple complex sprawls all over the hillside, and hosts many statues and other religious artifacts. The grounds are truly huge, covering a large part of the mountains. Every patch of these gardens is carefully tended, and paths meander over small stone bridges over quiet little creeks. It's a very magical place, and it is definitely recommended as any part of a Maokong itinerary.
