Liaoning Street Night Market

Anyone that's curious about food cannot go to Taipei without visiting this seafood market (遼寧街夜市). The market has a very large selection of fresh, dried, pan fried and deep fried seafood. They also serve goose with rice, sautéed shrimp with hot sauce, fish-flavored eggplants and many other interesting dishes.

There are also excellent - unhealthy-yet-scrumptious - fried rice and noodles. There are easily enough dining options here for a week's worth of snacking, all in a budget-friendly environment and giddy atmosphere. Take note, it is a typical, Taiwanese night market with street food so you have no table for sitting and eating.  There are no English menus, but don't worry: all you need to do is point to whatever you want to eat!
