Plum Garden Hall
Taipei
Not a garden full of plum trees, this point of interest used to be the Father of Control Yuan and calligrapher Yu You Ren's summerhouse in Taiwan. It was originally built in the late 1930s and has been opened to the public since 2010.
The renovated wooden house still preserves its original Japanese-inspired architectural style and reserves a sense of past-time asthetics. Yu's calligraphy works are still hung on the walls in this hourse and are very much the pride of this place. Ironically, there are only two to three plum trees in the Plum Garden Hall (梅庭) which the place is named.
