A cure for the common comfort food craving. The Diner (yes, that is the full name) is very reliable when it comes to finding an American-style burger joint in Taipei. Opened in 2006, the owners sought to bring a new dining trend to Taiwan: that of the all-day brunch. What's more the service is very much bilingual. In terms of ambience, The Diner also wins. This restaurant has that homey feeling of a 'pass the jam please' family meal. A really cosy brunch corner.
The Diner has grown to include a number of venues in Taipei, serving guests comfort food that is as nutritional as it is filling. The brunch is really the draw card in this cheese-loving eatery. The expansive menu caters to every continental brunch preference. If you like your eggs sunny side up, poached or as baked egg rancheros, that's all doable here. Fritattas anyone? How about a sandwich instead? The Diner doesn't go cheap on toppings either. From Po Boy and Turkey Reuben to the famous Pulled Pork - every crust-caressing delicacy you can think of. Food at The Diner is presentable and the portions are substantial. If you're ravenous and wanting to top up, this is definitely a place to do.
The Daan location has options such as Steak & Eggs, Smoked Salmon, and Breakfast Burrito. All of this is served all day, opening early and closing late. Toasts can be substituted with French Toast, blueberry bagels, pancakes, English muffins, or rye toast. The Diner in Daan is a short distance from Technology Building MRT station.
