Taiwanese and Chinese
Wei Lu( 圍爐 ) is great for traditional Taiwanese tastes. Armed with baskets, customers can choose from a grand variety of tofu, noodles, meats and vegetables to have cooked (fried or grilled) or cook in their table's own hot pot. The hot pot here is a delicious base, made with shredded cabbage and and pork. Customers usually pay per person, for a set. On average, about $200 per person or more. The restaurant is a little more cosy than your average Taipei shabu shabu and has a great selection. Best of all is the particularly wholseome hot pot base, worth leaving home for on a cold day and a great introduction to the Taiwanese institution of shabu shabu dining.
